As you can see, this calculator is a must have if you're thinking about getting serious with mathematics.
The addition of the optional TI-Graph Link (software and cable) allows you to connect the calculator to your computer, permitting the transfer of files and data between computers. The TI-83 is powered by four AAA alkaline batteries and one lithium battery for backup, with an automatic shutoff to save battery life. This was my first and only graphics calculator; originally I purchased it for data plotting, however its uses extend much further than this.
Generally, the TI-83 is an excellent choice for anyone taking any Algebra course, or any math for that matter. It performs all the essential basics, as well as graphical equations, statistics, matrices and a variety of other mathematical operations.
